Welcome

The Leemont Charge is a two point church charge in the Eastern Shore District of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. In layman's terms it is two different churches which share one pastor. The pastor, assigned by the conference, ministers to the congregations and communities of Adams United Methodist Church in Parksley (Whitesville) Virginia and Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Onancock (Bayside) Virginia.

Adams and Metropolitan are primarily African American congregations. Metropolitan is the older congregation established over 140 years ago. However we are in the midst of diversity and welcome all who come to worship! There are only 48 African American churches in the Virginia Conference and 8 are on the Shore (Eastern Shore District).
