Rev. Carl Perez is an ordained Elder in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was born in Hammonton, NJ in a small village called Egg Harbor. His stepfather was a shipbuilder in the community until it closed in the 1980’s, after which the family moved to Pennsylvania.

Carl met his wife, Katrina, during High School and married in 1998. Carl attended and graduated from Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA with a B.A. degree in Religion and one class shy of a double major in History! Carl received his Masters of Divinity degree, from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., while pastoring a growing congregation in Moneta, VA. From there Carl was appointed to Fairview on the Lynchburg District. While at Lynchburg he served on the Community Court, Y.E.S. Programs, and opened the church to the community. He is a member of the Emmaus Community and served on many Epiphany Walks. Carl believes and practices that the ministry of the clergy is to enable and support the laity in making disciples of Jesus Christ while transforming the world. Carl often says, “ If you say you are a Christian, I hear you, but if I see you are a Christian, I know you. Christians bear fruit, where is yours?” Carl's gifts are in preaching the Word, teaching, "outside the box" evangelism, contemporary & traditional worship and mission trips. Carl and Katrina have five children: Hannah, Abba'gale, Dustin, Rachel, and Judah. Rev. Perez is a trail blazer! He is the first one in his family, to graduate from High School, College and graduate studies. He has traveled to Israel, Rome, Spain, England, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Northern Mozambique, Guatemala and El Salvador.
